South Suburban DUI Arrests, Oct. 14

In recent days, police nabbed just a few suspected drunken drivers on Southland roadways.

NEW LENOX

Oct. 6: James Hanley, 32, Joliet, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and driving without car insurance at Cedar Road and Route 30. According to police, an anonymous caller complained about an intoxicated driver. Hanley was stopped when police noticed him changing lanes without signaling and cutting off other drivers, police said.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS

Oct. 6: Cierra M. Bartholomew, 20, of the 3800 block of Sangamon in Steger, was arrested in the 3200 block of Dornell and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving too fast for conditions, police said.

FRANKFORT

Oct. 2: Jacob Kupsik, 25, of Worth, was issued citations for driving on the wrong side of the road, driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC greater than .08 and driving without insurance at 5 a.m. at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Hickory Creek Drive.

ORLAND PARK

Sept. 22: Police saw an SUV back into a light pole, causing the pole to shake, in a parking lot in the 14400 block of LaGrange Road around 2 a.m. The driver pulled away without checking the pole for damage, heading north on LaGrange Road when the SUV was pulled over, according to the report. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, he stumbled as he exited the SUV and he failed field sobriety tests, police said. Neither his SUV nor the pole were heavily damaged, according to the report. Antonio Aguilar, 55, of the 7800 block of Keystone Road in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of .08 and failure to give information after striking property.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.

Disappointed once again to not see 7th heaven on the roster. They have the best vocals out there,Read More even without their lead singer Keith Semple who defected to start a solo act. This band actually gets radio air play. Haven't heard any of the others at Oakfest on the radio.

I hope that you find the owners of that pet! I bring my black Shepherd up there when we go...oneRead More reason I don't let my dog go with neighbors is because neighbors can't control him like we do. I dare anyone to name a more dangerous intersection then that. The turn from 147th st west bound toRead More southbound Oak Park is the worst I've seen. One slip and your car goes down a ravine 20 feet. The civil engineer and county people who approved that design should be called out. We NEED HELP!
