Swerving drivers and too-bright lights: this week's roundup of drunk driving arrests in the Southland.

EVERGREEN PARK

NOV. 14: Daryl Harris, 52, of Evergreen Park, was charged with driving under the influence. He was stopped in the 9500 block of Kedzie at 12:15 a.m. for speeding, police said. He failed field sobriety tests and a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of .20, police said. 

NOV. 12: Thomas Johnson, 57, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence. He was stopped for speeding in the 9700 block of Pulaski Road at 12:38 a.m., police said. Johnson failed a field sobriety test and refused to take a breath test, police said. He was also cited for driving without insurance. 

PALOS HEIGHTS

NOV. 15: Myra J. Machura, 21, of the 21100 block of Deerpath Road in Frankfort, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, improper lane use and failing to dim lights, according to a police report. Police reportedly spotted Machura's vehicle at about 2:06 a.m. near 12500 S. Harlem Ave., when she failed to dim her brights. During the stop, an officer allegedly could smell an oder of alcohol coming from the driver. Machura failed field sobriety tests and, after her arrest, gave a breath sample that resulted in a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08. She was booked and given a $3,000 bond.

NOV. 15: Elefteriadis Lefteris, 53, of the 15500 block of South Holly Hock Court in Orland Park was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, improper lane use and following too closely, according to a police report. Police said Lefteris was stopped after his car was seen making several lane violations. During the stop, an officer allegedly could smell an odor of alcohol. Lefteris reportedly failed field sobriety tests. He also took a breath test after his arrest, which resulted in a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08. Police booked Lefteris and gave him a $3,000 bond.

NOV. 15: Margaret M. Crider, 39, of the 6500 block of West 111th Place in Worth was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and driving an uninsured vehicle, according to a police report. Crider's vehicle was stopped after it was reportedly seen committing lane violations. She agreed to a field sobriety test after an officer allegedly saw she had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. Crider was booked and given a $3,000 bond.

Disappointed once again to not see 7th heaven on the roster. They have the best vocals out there,Read More even without their lead singer Keith Semple who defected to start a solo act. This band actually gets radio air play. Haven't heard any of the others at Oakfest on the radio.
