South Suburban DUI Arrests, Feb. 17

FRANKFORT

Feb. 3: Maria Hull-Gecas, 35, of the 8800 block of Clare Avenue in Mokena, is charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol at the intersection of S. 84th Avenue and W. Lincoln Highway in Frankfort.

Jan. 30: Jeremy E. Folk, 31, of the 200 block of Fox Trail Drive in Bourbonnais, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and use of unsafe tires at 12:40 a.m. on the 20000 block of La Grange Road. He was released on bond. His court date is March 6.

MOKENA

Feb. 5: Krintin Lenart, 46, of the 19400 block of S. Wolf Road, was pulled over shortly after 11 p.m. for turning east without a turn signal onto Parker Road, from Wolf Road.

She attempted to flee the scene on foot when police stopped her for traffic violations that led to charges of aggravated DUI and more.

During the traffic stop, police said she got out of her car and ignored directives to get back in the vehicle. Stumbling, she attempted to walk away; however, police grabbed her arm. Lenart told police that she was leaving to get some medicine.

NEW LENOX

Feb. 9: Mark Cerda, 42, of New Lenox, was arrested for possession of suspected cocaine and DUI after a traffic stop about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 9 at Gougar and Francis Roads.

Cerda was pulled over for speeding and failure to yield, according to the report. An investigation revealed that Cerda had been drinking. Police also discovered that he was in possession of a substance suspected to be cocaine.

Cerda was taken to Will County jail. He was booked on pending charges for possession of cocaine, resisting a peace officer and DUI. No bond information was available.

MIDLOTHIAN

Anthony C. Bradford, 49, of the 4400 block of Flossmoor Road, Country Club Hills, was charged with speeding over the posted limit, failure to signal, no valid proof of insurance and driving under the influence of alcohol, following a traffic stop in the 16000 block of Cicero Avenue.

Police originally stopped Bradford after clocking him at 51 mph in a 35 mph zone. Bradford was unable to produce a driver's license when officers asked.

Officers noted alcohol on his breath andhe failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

Bradford was taken into custody and transported to the Oak Forest Police Department, where he was processed and released on bond.

ORLAND PARK

Jan. 25: Police were called to a two-car accident near 167th Street and Will-Cook Road around 10:15 p.m. One car was on the south side of 167th Street facing east in the 11500 block, while the other car was about 500 feet east in a farm field about 100 feet from the road, police said. A woman in the car in the field was shaken and had some scratches and abrasions from the crash, but said she was all right, police said. The driver of the other car was found talking to another officer, while walking back toward his car, police said. His breath smelled like alcohol, and he told police a car drove into his lane and struck him, police said. He refused to take field sobriety tests, according to the report. Daniel R. Chudzinski, 29, of the 5200 block of West 170th Place in Oak Forest, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use.

Jan. 21: Police pulled over a car for rolling through a red light while turning south on to John Humphrey Drive from 143rd Street around 12:40 a.m. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, his speech was slurred, he admitted to drinking and refused to take field sobriety tests, police said. David W. Goshen, 36, of the 16200 block of Hawthorne Drive in Orland Hills, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a traffic control light.

Jan. 17: Police pulled over a truck that crossed from the curbside lane over the median line into the oncoming traffic lane in the 16200 block of LaGrange Road around 11:50 p.m. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, he failed field sobriety tests and did not produce an insurance card for the truck, police said. Peter Perez-Serena, 44, of the 19500 block of Mayfield Place in Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an uninsured vehicle, driving in the wrong lane and improper lane use.

PALOS HEIGHTS

Feb. 3: Matthew R. Stupp, 23, of the 15500 block of Millard in Markham, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence and speeding, according to a report. Officers stopped Stupp at about 2:20 a.m. near 7800 W. College Dr. for speeding and, after some investigating, found her to be allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was booked and issued a $3,000 bond.

Feb. 3: Tarron M. Owens, 27, of the 6600 block of South Campbell in Chicago, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, aggravated speeding and improper lane use, according to a police report. Police said Owens showed signs that he had been drinking after being stopped at around 1:46 a.m. near 11800 S. Harlem Ave. for speeding and improper lane use. He was booked and issued a $1,000 bond.

Feb. 3: Kevin D. Bond, 28, of the 2200 block of West 119th Street in Blue Island, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, speeding, improper lane use, driving without insurance and driving with a suspended license. Bond was stopped by police around 3:50 a.m. near 7600 W. College Dr. He was arrested, booked and issued a $3,000 bond.

Feb. 2: Hassan A. Kurdi, 23, of the 9100 block of Crescent Court in Oak Lawn, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding, according to a police report. Kurdi was stopped for speeding, police said, when investigating officers allegedly found him to be under the influence of alcohol. Kurdi later took a breathalyzer test. He was booked and issued a $1,000 bond.

TINLEY PARK

Feb. 7: Heather N. Anderson, 26, of the 4600 block of W. 107th Street in Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, no headlights when required, improper lane usage and BAC over .08, after police pulled her over at the intersection of Oak Park Avenue and Hickory Street.

Officers witnessed Anderson drive over a curb and onto the sidewalk, nearly striking a lightpole, on Oak Park Avenue, according to the report. Police immediately made a u-turn and curbed Anderson.

Officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and she told officers she had two doubles before driving, according to the report.

Anderson failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. She was taken to the Tinley Park Police Station, where she blew a . 213. She was charged and released on bond, pending a Feb. 25 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
