No Link Between Sunday Armed Robbery, July 12 Teen Attack: Cops

Two men told Oak Forest police 2 attackers held them in chokeholds while another drew a revolver and searched their pockets. This attack was the second reported that weekend.

A pair of 22-year-old men told Oak Forest police they were robbed at gunpoint over the weekend by attackers who got away on bicycles.

The two men, one from Oak Forest and the other from Midlothian, were choked by two attackers while a third assailant pointed a black revolver at them Monday morning in the Mobile gas station parking lot, 14701 Central Ave. Both victims refused medical treatment and did not appear to have any marks on their heads or necks, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Monday's attack was the second in a week. Two teens told police they were beaten and robbed Friday on Victoria Avenue by three assailants, one of whom had a gun. That case was cleared after a witness refused to cooperate with investigators, police said.

The two robberies are isolated and don't appear to be connected, police said.

The victims in the gas station lot attack were walking home after buying items at convenience store when the two of the three attackers approached and started a conversation, according to an Oak Forest police report. The third robber snuck up from behind, pulled a black revolver and yelled, "This is a robbery." They held the victims in chokeholds while the man with the gun emptied the victims' pockets.

The three robbers got away on two bicycles, with one of them riding on bike pegs, according to the victim's account.
