Trouble At The Strip Club


An argument that began at a Chicago Heights strip club escalated into road rage, police said.

A Romeoville man told police a driver from Bolingbrook intentionally sideswiped his car at about 4:09 a.m. on May 18 near the intersection of South Halsted Street and 195th Street.

The Romeoville man believed the other driver’s girlfriend had argued with a female co-worker at Club 390, 390 E Joe Orr Rd., before the crash. according to a Chicago Heights police report. That co-worker was in the Romeoville man’s car when the alleged hit and run happened. She told police she experienced pain in her right shoulder because of the crash.

The two women have had ongoing problems at work with each other, according to the report.

Police said the front fender and front passenger side door were damaged. No arrests were reported.

Hazard Lights Draw Police Attention


Drivers should know the difference between the turn signal and the hazard lights before climbing behind the wheel.

Armando Ortiz, 31, of the 1300 block of Shields Avenue, Chicago Heights, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08, disobeying a stop sign, driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and illegally transporting alcohol, according to a report.

Police stopped an SUV at about 1:36 a.m. near the intersection of 16th Street and East End Avenue after an officer noticed its hazard lights weren't on and that rolled through a stop sign, according to the report. When asked about the hazard lights, the driver said he was using his turn signals. Police reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s breath during the stop.

Ortiz, who failed to produce a driver’s license or proof of insurance, was arrested, according to a report. He later took a breath test while in police custody.

Man Named Threatt Accused of Making a Threat


A Chicago man lived up to his name after an incident inside an Evergreen Park bank.

James P. Threatt, 51, of the 1600 block of West Waseca Place, was charged with disorderly conduct and assault, according to a report.

Police said Threatt yelled profanities and alarmed customers at about 2:50 p.m. on May 24 in the Standard Bank branch, 2400 W. 95th St.

Threatt then allegedly threatened a bank employee by saying "I'll be waiting for you to get off work" and placing his hand on his breast pocket, according to the report.

Officers caught up with Threatt at 95th Street and California Avenue, police said. He had boarded a PACE bus heading west.

A witness from the bank identified Threatt on the bus, police said.
