Stop and Argue, Get Arrested

Shannon D. Rice, 42, of the 15700 block of Turlington Avenue, Harvey, was charged with driving while license suspended revoked and blocking an intersection, after a call of car trouble in the 14700 block of S. Cicero Avenue.

Rice told officers he only stopped the car because he and his passenger were having a verbal argument. Rice told officers his passenger exited the vehicle at the intersection and that was why he stopped the car.

Police checked their computer system for both Rice and the passenger, finding both had suspended driver's licenses. Rice was taken into custody, transported to the Midlothian Police Department and processed, before being released on bond.

Thief Makes Off with Copper Pipe

Police were called to a home in the 14400 block of S. Springfield Avenue, after a complaint of a residential burglary.

A man told police he works for a bank and was checking on vacant property when he noticed a small amount of copper piping missing from the home's furnace.

Officers noted a broken window on the lower level of the home.

Paintball Shot in the Dark

A victim of theft came to the Midlothian Police Department to report the theft of his paintball gun.

The victim said that he was using the website www.PBNation.com and was exchanging messages with the suspect before he mailed the suspect his paintball gun, which they agreed the suspect would modify.

The victim mailed the gun to Georgia in mid-October and has yet to receive the gun back. The victim said the suspect emailed him pictures of the modified gun, detailing what work was done and the two continued to trade several emails after that.

However, the victim said the suspect stopped all communication in early December and that the local police in Georgia would need a report from Midlothian police in order to investigate the matter.
