Prank Calls Escalate from Fake Firings to a Threat of Slaughter

Prank calls made from Las Vegas to an Oak Forest business which claimed everyone there was fired quickly turned into a threat of violence.

An employee at the business, which is located in the 15300 block of 70th Court, received two harassing phone calls on Nov. 12, according to an Oak Forest police report.

The man on the phone claimed that he owned the company and that everyone needs to pack up their stuff because they were fired, the report states. Ten minutes later, the same man called back, claiming he was Jesus Christ and that he would slaughter everyone.

A 49-year-old Las Vegas man was suspected in the harassing call, the report states. An assistant state's attorney from Cook County said a warrant for the man's arrest would be issued.

No arrest was reported at the time the report was made.
