Oak Forest Police Reports, Oct. 5-9.

SUNDAY, OCT. 9

DUI After Accident

Thomas J. Provancal, 21, of the 14700 block of South Kenton Avenue in Midlothian, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level over 0.08, said. Officers responded to an accident in the 15500 block of Cicero Avenue. Provancal had rear-ended another car at 4:35 a.m., according to the report. Provancal failed field sobriety tests and was also issued tickets for the accident, police said.

Battery

A 15-year-old boy told police he was punched in the face as he was walking through Oak Forest's Main Park, 15601 S. Central Ave., around 8 p.m. The boy told police one of two men yelled at him and then ran up and punched him, according to the report. Both men were described as being around 6-foot tall, black, and in their early 20s, police said.

Criminal Damage Reports

  • A window at Magna Electric, 15644 Cicero Ave., was shattered between 6 and 8 p.m., but no one gained entry to the business, police said.
  • A resident in the 6000 block of Rob Roy reported that a piece of siding had been removed from the home overnight, police said. The siding was found in the front bushes, broken into a few pieces, according to the report.

Money Stolen?

An employee of Blarney Stone, 15400 Cicero Ave., said a drunken man entered the kitchen around midnight and began to yell at her, police said. Security then escorted the man outside. When the employee went to her purse, she noticed $80 missing from her wallet, according to the report.

Bicyle Theft

A resident in the 15200 block of Laramie Avenue reported her daughter's bike had been stolen from outside the family's home between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., police said.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 5

Battery

A 15-year-old boy said he had been hit during a fight at Oak Forest's Main Park, 15601 Central Ave., police said. Police responded to the fight around 3 p.m., but everyone involved had left, according to the report. The victim said he was approached by two men, one of whom put his hands in the victim's pockets, police said. Both men punched the victim, according to the report.

Theft

A water meter and copper wire were stolen from a vacant home in the 16600 block of Lockeridge Avenue between Sept. 28 and Oct. 5, police said.
