Police Blotter: More Catalytic Converters Stolen, Drug Arrests

Oak Forest police reports, July 12–19

SUNDAY, JULY 17

Bicycle Theft

A man in the 5800 block of Chauser reported his son's bicycle had been stolen from outside of a friend's house around 9 p.m.

Booze Theft at CVS

An employee at CVS Pharmacy, 15840 Cicero Ave., reported that a man entered the store at 8:45 p.m. and put three bottles of alcohol in his jacket, got into a pick-up truck, and fled the scene.

Drug Offenses

Robert W. Laschober, 25, of the 7900 block of 164th Place in Tinley Park, was charged with possession of heroin and domestic battery. The victim came to police saying Laschober had been stealing from her, choked her, and threatened her, according to reports. Laschober turned himself in to police at 1 p.m. and a search found heroin on his person, police said. Bail was set July 18.

Residential Burglary

A woman in the 15400 block of Waverly Avenue reported that her home had been robbed between 10:30 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. The unknown offenders took some silver and gold jewelry, according to the report.

Battery

Daniel J. Finn, 32, of the 13600 block of Lamon Avenue in Crestwood, was charged with battery. A woman in the 14800 block of El Vista Avenue said that a man began to yell obscenities at her around 7:15 p.m. The woman's husband came to ask Finn to leave and Finn chest-bumped the woman's husband, police said. Finn was released on an I-bond.

THURSDAY, JULY 14

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A woman's tires were punctured while parked at a business in the 4100 block of 167th Street at 10:40 a.m., police said.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 13

Catalytic Converter Thefts in Metra Lot

Six people reported that their catalytic converters had been cut from their cars sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. while they were parked at the 157th Street Metra lot annex or the 159th Street Arbor Lot.

Suspended License Yields Drug Find

Louis F. Perri, 27, of the 6900 block of 65th Street in Bedford Park, was charged with driving on a revoked license and possession of a controlled substance. Officers stopped Perri at the intersection of 149th Street and Cicero Avenue around 12:30 a.m. A search of Perri's belongings found two bags of cocaine in a used cigarette pack, according to the report. Bail was set July 14.

TUESDAY, JULY 12

Criminal Damage to School

Someone had painted gang graffiti on Fieldcrest School, 4100 Wagman St., sometime between July 10 and July 12, police said.

Theft from Truck

A man in the 16300 block of Terry Lane reported that someone had stolen a spare tire from his truck between July 9 and July 11.

Criminal Damage to Property

Patrick J. McCann, 25, of the 10300 block of South Christiana in Chicago, was charged with criminal damage to property. A woman in the 15400 block of South Laramie told police that McCann had kicked in her door just before 1 a.m., according to reports.

MONDAY, JULY 11

Possession of Cannabis

Mark C. Fishbaugh, 20, of the 6300 block of El Morro in Oak Forest, was cited with possession of cannabis. Police on patrol in the 15600 block of Long Avenue said they saw Fishbaugh near a park standing outside his car and get back in the car once the officer approached around 7 p.m. The officer smelled raw cannabis coming from the car and saw three bags of cannabis in the car, police said. Fishbaugh was later released on bond.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

A Frankfort man reported that someone had broken the passenger side windows of his car and had stolen a bucket of change containing about $600 while he was at Oak Forest Bowling Alley, 15240 Cicero Ave. The victim said the burglar took a coin-weighing scale between 2:20 and 4:30 p.m.
