Police Blotter: Laptop and Bank Statements Gone After Car Burglary

Oak Forest police reports for April 29 to May 9.

SUNDAY, APRIL 29

CDs Stolen

Someone stole 50 CDs and some loose change from a car parked in the 5100 block of Chippewa Court. The victim told it happened some time between the evening of April 29 and the morning of April 30. The car was unlocked and parked in a driveway on the street.

Laptop and Bank Statements Gone After Burglary

A gym bag, bank statements, charging cords, a Sony Vaio laptop in a black Coach bag and hair cutting supplies were stolen from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 5400 block of Christoper Drive sometime early in the morning.

TUESDAY, MAY 8

Cannabis Possession Arrest

Tyler M. Beardsley, 18, of 15233 Oak Rd. in Oak Forest, was cited for possessing between 2.5 grams and 10 grams of cannabis, speeding and driving without proof of insurance. Police had stopped Beardsley, who was seen driving 40 mph in a 20 mph zone, according to a report. During the stop, an officer could smell a strong odor of cannabis coming from the car. Beardsley told police had some cannabis under the driver’s seat. An officer found 7 grams of a substance that later tested positive for cannabis. Beardsley was arrested and cited for the above offenses.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9

Multiple Burglaries at Apartment Complex

Several cars were burglarized between the late evening of May 8 and the morning of May 9 at the Rustic Oaks apartment complex. The windows of the cars were smashed. Among the items stolens was a GPS unit, $20 cash, a phone charger, credit cards and a flute.
