Father's Day BBQ Ends Up in Brawl

A 42-year-old Oak Forest woman was arrested on battery charges after neighbors told police she began throwing rocks at them during a Father's Day barbecue. The incident happened around 4 p.m. Saturday in the 15100 block of Long Avenue, according to reports.

Witnesses said Dawn M. Pullano, a resident of that block, began yelling obscenities and throwing rocks over a fence into the yard of neighbors enjoying a barbecue. Pullano reportedly struck one woman in the leg with a rock and when another woman grabbed Pullano's arm to stop her, Pullano bit the second woman on the arm, according to reports. A physical altercation ensued and when police arrived, Pullano was being restrained by the second woman, the report stated.

Pullano was subsequently charged with two counts of battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after she struggled with officers during the arrest, according to reports.

Woman Kicks Cop During Arrest

Suzanne J. Wertz, 39, of Woodridge was arrested at a motel in the 15300 block of Cicero Avenue about 8 a.m. Saturday. Wertz was arrested after employees at the said she was drunk and "out of control" and wanted her removed from the property, according to reports. When officers arrived at the motel, Wertz refused to leave the room after though she was asked repeatedly, the report stated.

She was arrested after she wouldn't leave on her own and as the officer walked her to the car, she kicked the officer in the right shin, according to reports. Wertz was ultimately charged with criminal trespass and battery.
