Stolen Spare

Someone stole the spare tire from the back of a woman's Jeep Wrangler while it was parked in the Metra lot at 15700 S. Cicero.

Caught with Crack

Frank Rasmussen, 33, of the 14200 block of Parnell in Riverdale, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, police said, after he was pulled over for driving straight where signs dictated right turn only. When Rasmussen reached into his pocket to pull out his ID, police spotted a small plastic baggie containing what field-tested as cocaine, police said. Rasmussen's passenger, David Pellegrini, 41, of the 1800 block of Terrace Drive in Homewood, was found with a bag of what appeared to be cannabis, and additional bags of cocaine, police said. Pellegrini was charged with possesion of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and possession of cannabis.

Stolen ATV

Someone stole a Yamaha ATV from a shed in the 15600 block of Lamon, police said.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 7

No Comfort for Shoplifter

Jewel employees called police to report a theft in progress. Kari Szeszycki, 22, of the 8800 block of Harlem in Bridgeview, was seen leaving the store with a bottle of Southern Comfort she did not purchase, employees told police. When police approached Szeszycki, she threw the bottle into the bushes. An officer retrieved the alcohol, valued at $20. Jewel employees identified Szeszycki. She was charged with retail theft and released with a Jan. 13 court date.
