Broken Birdbath

Someone egged a woman's front window and knocked over her birdbath in the 4900 block of West 158th Street, a woman told police.

Police said they pulled over David Nardi, of the 16200 block of Debra Drive, for driving without his headlights. Police said the driver appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests, including reciting the alphabet; he attempted twice, interchanging the letters 'p' and 'v' on the second attempt. He was cited for driving without headlights, driving without insurance and driving under the influence.

Lights Out at Park District

Someone broke open the control boxes for four of the six outdoor light poles at the Oak Forest Park District baseball fields, an employee told police. The person then snipped the wiring, causing $1,000 in damage.

Calling Nokia Owners

A silver Nokia cell phone was found at Jesk Park on Thursday.

Warrant from Worth

Police responded to a call for reckless driving near 159th Street and Laramie Avenue. The officer did not observe reckless driving, but did pull over Sarah Shermulis, of the 6000 block of Brookwood Drive in Oak Forest, for expired Indiana temp plates. Police said they discovered a warrant in her name from the Worth Police Department, dated Dec. 1, 2010. The warrant carried a $50,000 D bond. Shermulis told police she was unable to pay and police turned her over to Worth police.

Rock through Window

Owners of an apartment building in the 15700 block of Terrace Drive told police that someone took a landscape rock and threw it through a window on the building's front door, causing $300 in damage.

Smashed Out Window

Representatives from the Individual Advocacy Group, 15300 block of South Cicero Avenue, told police someone busted out the rear window of the group's van while it was parked in front of the business.
