Pair Accused of Hiding Liquor Bottles in Sleeves: Blotter

Oak Forest police reports, May 1-2 • Ford Focus reported stolen • Possession charge for Dixmoor man found with cocaine.

THURSDAY, MAY 2

Liquor Theft From CVS

Darren L. Wright, 38, of the 8000 block of South Green Street in Chicago, and Vivian L. McGee, 28, of the 16200 block of Paulina Street in Markham, were charged with retail theft, according to a report. They are accused of grabbing bottles of liquor and hiding them in their sleeves at about 8:26 p.m. from CVS, 15840 Cicero Ave.

Focus Reported Stolen

A 2012 Ford Focus was reported missing from the 5300 block of Jessica Drive. The car was parked in a driveway overnight, according to the report.

Possession Charge For Dixmoor Man

Qajuan W. Lay, 26, of the first block of West 142nd Street, Dixmoor, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving with a revoked license and failing to signal, according to a report. Police stopped Lay after he reportedly failed to signal while pulling into a driveway at about 4:40 p.m., in the 5100 block of 167th Street.

Lay was arrested after police found he had a revoked license, the report stated. During a search of the vehicle, police found a small knotted baggie that had a rock-like substance and tested positive for 0.9 grams of cocaine, the report continued.
