Oak Forest's Top Cop a Finalist for Chief Job in Texas

Oak Forest Police Chief Greg Anderson is one of five candidates in final interviews for police chief of Denton, Texas.

Chief Greg Anderson might be leaving for a new chief position, based in Denton, TX.

Anderson is one of five candidates in final interviews for the position Sept. 14, according to the Denton Record-Chronicle, a Texas newspaper.

The Record-Chronicle reported last week that Anderson has made it through the elimination process from an 80-candidate list, to the final five. Only one of the candidates is local to the Texas town, and there are no finalists from within the Denton department. Bloomington, IL, Police Chief Randall McKinley also remains in contention for the spot.

All five finalists will be interviewed Wednesday, Sept. 14, and an announcement of the new chief will take place either that day or shortly afterward, the report states.

Calls to Anderson, the Metropolitan Alliance of Police and Denton City Manager Richard Campbell went unanswered Tuesday.
