Oak Forest Police Chief Eliminated from Search for Texas Top Cop

Chief Greg Anderson will be staying put in Oak Forest after a local candidate was chosen for the chief position in Denton, Texas.

The chief of the  will be sticking around, according to Texas newspaper The Denton Record-Chronicle.

The Denton, Texas, department chose local candidate and Denton County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Lee Howell to fill the department's chief role, over Oak Forest Police Chief Greg Anderson.

Howell and Anderson were two of five finalists for the job, and Howell was the only remaining local candidate following a nationwide search and selection process, according to the report.

The Record-Chronicle reported last week that Anderson had made it through the elimination process from a list of 80 candidates to the final five.
