Oak Forest Man Killed in Romeoville Crash Wednesday
Three other people were treated for injuries and released from St. Joe's in Joliet.
A 67-year-old Oak Forest man died in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Renwick Road in Romeoville, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.
Cmdr. Ken Kroll said a white Kia Rio heading east on Renwick just west of Rankin crossed into the westbound lanes, where it struck a white Ford Pace bus. After the initial collision, the Kia struck a blue Ford Fusion that was also heading east, Kroll said.
The driver of the Kia was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and pronounced dead, police said. As of Wednesday evening, the man's identity had not yet been released, pending notification of his family.
Police said three people — a 44-year-old from Plainfield man, a 57-year-old from Pembroke Township man and a 64-year-old Romeoville woman — were taken to St. Joe's, where they were treated and released.
According to Patrick Wilmot, a spokesman for Pace, the driver of the Dial-A-Ride minibus and one passenger were among the injured.
Romeoville police are investigating the crash.
