Oak Forest 'Hearts' Its Police Officers

An ongoing study reveals nearly 9 out of 10 people who interact with the cops is satisfied with the experience.

Oak Forest residents love their cops. 

Most who interact with police feel the experience is satisfactory, according to the department. 

An ongoing police-community interaction study, which began last fall, reveals nearly 90 percent of participants who were surveyed after an interaction with Oak Forest police said they were satisfied or very satisfied with how the police treated them. The project is planned to continue throughout the next few months.

"Knowing how the public perceives their experiences with our officers is invaluable to having a better understanding of what we do well and what we need to improve,” Oak Forest Police Chief Greg Anderson said. “The more responses we get, the more helpful the survey results will be to our department.”

Oak Forest is one of about a dozen Illinois police departments participating in this survey.
