Nervous Robber Takes 'No' for an Answer

The victim tells Oak Forest police her attacker seemed like he hadn't robbed anyone before when he asked for money.

A woman told Oak Forest police she was attacked by an assailant who appeared to be nervous while demanding money from her.

The assault took place at about 10:50 p.m. July 21 in the 15400 block of Ridgeland Avenue, according to the . The woman was in a driveway and had just gotten out of her car when she was approached.

The attacker reportedly pushed the woman up against a car and said “You shouldn’t scream because the neighbors are out. Do you have any money?”

When the victim responded with a “no," the man ran northbound on Ridgeland. The attaker is described as a 6-foot black man with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and tan shorts.

The victim told police her attacker seemed nervous, as though he hadn't robbed anyone before, according to the report.
