More than 130 Seatbelt Scofflaws Ticketed in Recent Campaign

Oak Forest officials released the results Tuesday of May's enforcement effort.

Oak Forest police wrote more than 130 tickets for not wearing a seatbeat in a recent May crackdown, officials announced Tuesday.

The conducted a citywide "traffic enforcement campaign" to find those driving without seatbelts, police said. More than 120 vehicles were stopped during the Memorial Day effort.

“Our hope is that the highly visible presence of our officers will remind vehicle occupants to wear their seatbelts,” said Deputy Police Chief Dominic D’Ambrosio in a statement to the media. “It is crucial to keep children buckled at all times.”
