Man Resisted Arrest During Foot Chase Through OF Neighborhood: Police

Police investigated a report on Dec. 7 of two men knocking on a woman's door before the foot chase.

A foot chase through yards in Oak Forest led to accusations of underage drinking and resisting arrest for a 19-year-old man.

Oak Forest police investigated a report of two men knocking on a woman's door and refusing to leave on Dec. 7.

Ivan D. Thomas, 19, of the 15500 block of Long Avenue, Oak Forest, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and resisting a police. Devin M. Heaphy, 19, of the same address, was charged with underage drinking.

Police checking in the area of 15500 block of Natalie found two men running northbound through yards and hopping fences, the report states. An officer caught up to one who was trying to scale a fence. The man kicked free of the officer and took off east through a nearby creek.

Another officer arrived and arrested Heaphy after finding him out of breath, the police said. The cops caught up with Thomas, who one officer identified as the man who kicked free, a short time later.

Heaphy is due on Jan. 3 in Bridgeview court. Thomas is schedule to appear in court on Feb. 5. Both men were released after posting $1,500 bond.
