Man Found Sleeping in Booth of Burglarized Restaurant

Oak Forest police said they also discovered a landscaping brick and an unopened sandwich inside the restaurant.

A Midlothian man is in trouble with authorities after Oak Forest police found him sleeping in a restaurant booth after allegedly breaking in.

James M. Davis, 52, was arrested July 1 for burglary, police said.

An officer responded to an alarm at Villa Rivera, 5233 W. 159th St., after business hours, according to a report. Police found the front glass door smashed open and a man, Davis, asleep in one of the booths.

Davis was arrested and taken to the police department. While investigating, police also found a landscaping brick on the floor of the restaurant, along with an unopened sandwich and chips from Mr. Submarine on one of the tables.

Davis told police he was homeless and wanted a place to sleep.
