THURSDAY, Nov. 8

They Took My Key Ring

A resident in the 14800 block of Parkside Avenue notified police of a burglary to their home, sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The victim told police that they left a bathroom window open, which was locked when they returned home. The victim said that the only item removed from the home were a set of keys, containing a house key, car key and car alarm key. The victim also noted that several bananas were on the ground in the kitchen and that two pairs of shoes were moved to the bedroom from their previous spot.

That's Not My Credit Debt

A victim contact Oak Forest Police following an unknown suspect(s) using their credit information to make more than $1,000 in purchases. The person discovered the instances after they tried to apply for a loan and was notified by their bank of the outstanding balance.

The victim contacted the bank the credit debt was from and was informed to file a police report before any action could be taken. 

MONDAY, NOV. 5

You Planted That!

Anthony R. Travis, 46, of the 10500 block of Ridgeland Ave., Chicago Ridge, was cited for possession of a controlled substance, following a traffic stop at 167th and Kilbourne streets.

Officers curbed Travis after witnessing him driving without any headlights or taillights illuminated at 7:10 p.m. During the stop, officers noted a clear, plastic baggie protruding from the center console of Travis' vehicle. Travis consented a search of his vehicle and officers found three baggies that contained a white powdery substance.

Travis was taken into custody and transported to the Oak Forest Police Department. While in custody Travis stated that officers planted the drugs and that he didn't even know what cocaine was.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving without headlights and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was transported to the Bridgeview Courthouse for a bond hearing.

SUNDAY, NOV. 4

Why Are You in My Apartment?

Robert G. Ryder, 27, of the 16700 block of S. 90th Ave., Orland Park, was cited for disorderly conduct and public intoxication after an incident in the 4800 block of 157th Street.

Police received a call from a complainant that Ryder had forced his way into their apartment and was probably armed. Police saw Ryder exit the apartment in a drunken stupor and the victim signed complaints against him. Ryder was taken to the Oak Forest Police Department, where he was cited and released to his father.
