Man Nearly Loses Ear in Attack by Husky: Midlothian Police Blotter

That's the Dog's Chair

Police were notified of a dog bite incident in the 14500 block of Trumbull Avenue. Officers were told that a male Husky bit the ear of a victim.

The man told police the dog bit his ear around 9:15 p.m. Doctors at the hospital performed receive emergency surgery to reattach a portion of the ear.

Police then spoke with the dog's owner, who said the victim sat in the dog's chair and then the victim tried to kiss the dog. While trying to kiss the dog, the dog bit the victim.

The owner was issued a dog bite citation.

FRIDAY, NOV. 16

Drop My Drugs, 'I'm Trippin'

Tilford Jones, 24, of the 13900 block of S. Finley Road, Robbins, was charged with possession of a controlled substance following a police stop in the 14600 block of S. Keystone Ave.

While on patrol, officers saw Jones in an alley. Officers said that when Jones saw them, he threw something under a parked car. Police stopped Jones, who appeared nervous and said, “I Don't know why I'm trippin',” while speaking with officers.

Officers ran Jones through their system and discovered he had three warrants out for his arrest. They then searched under the car, finding a plastic baggie containing a off-white, rock-like substance. The substance fieldtested positive for .7 grams of cocaine.

Jones was taken to the Midlothian Police Department, where he was charged and served with his warrants. He was placed in a booking room to await transport to the Markham Courthouse for a bond hearing.

Panhandler Steals Portable Generator

Eric G. White, 51, of the 14600 block of S. Karlove Avenue, was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property, following an incident in the 14500 block of S. Karlov Avenue.

Police were called to the scene after a witness saw White running down the street, pushing a portable generator. The witness told officers that they saw White before, panhandling and that it was odd for him to have such an expensive piece of equipment.

Officers located White in his apartment building, along with the generator. The officers located the owner, who positively identified the generator as theirs. The owner also stated that sometime over night, somebody had broken into their garage.

White was taken to the police station, where he told officers he bought the generator from “a white guy named 'Derrick.'” He then changed his story, telling officers he stole the generator the previous night, hiding it across the street from the home. He then returned later in the day to take the generator to his apartment.

White was given a bond of $1,500 and a court date of Dec. 6 at the Markham Courthouse.

TUESDAY, NOV. 13

No Seat Belt Leads to Drug Bust, Foot Chase

Raymond Lipscomb, 30, of the 21700 block of S. Clyde Avenue, Sauk Village, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, following a seat belt violation stop in the 14700 block of S. Albany Avenue.

During the stop Lipscomb gave no reason as to why he was not wearing a seat belt. Officers found that Lipscomb had an outstanding warrant from Winnebago County, and asked him to step out of the vehicle. During a search, police found a clear bagging containing an off-white rock-like substance fell from his pocket. When the officer reached down to pick up the baggie, Lipscomb ran.

Lipscomb lost the officers, but they were able to find him laying prone next to a shed in a backyard minutes later.

Lipscomb was taken to the Midlothian Police Station, where he was charged for unlawful possession of a controlled substance for the 2.9 grams of cocaine that fell out of his pocket. He was then processed and placed in holding cell to await transport to the Markham lockup.
