Man Arrested for Flinging Poop at Bremen HS Cheerleaders

Brian Smith, 20, of Posen, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly threw feces at a group of cheerleaders in the Bremen High School gym in December 2012. Smith is due in court Feb. 26.

A Posen man faces a charge of disorderly conduct after police say he threw his own excrement at a group of Bremen High School cheerleaders in December 2012.

Brian Caleb Smith, 20, of the 14500 block of S. Troy Avenue, Posen, was arrested Thursday, Jan. 17, after Midlothian Police working at Bremen High School were contacted by the dean of students regarding the incident.

The dean showed officers video footage of Smith among a group of students standing in a hallway at the school. In the video, Smith, a graduate of of the school, appears to defecate into a white paper towel in the hall and then walk toward the school's gym with the group, according to Midlothian police reports. Smith and the group are then seen running out of the school, without the paper towel.

The dean spoke with several students, who confirmed it was Smith on the tape and that he did throw his feces at the cheerleaders.

Posen police officers arrested Smith in Posen, before turning him over to Midlothian officers, who transported him to the Midlothian Police Station.

At the station, Smith told officers that it was him on the tape and apologized for his actions, telling police he was drunk at the time.

Police charged Smith with disorderly conduct and scheduled a Feb. 26 court date at the Markham Courthouse. Officers also told Smith that he is no longer welcome at the school, according to the report.
