Police Catch Man With Methadone Pills: Midlothian Blotter

Midlothian police reports, March 5-6 • Red Box movie machine damaged • Blue Island man picked up on traffic warrant • Water heater and 2 sinks stolen from vacant house.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6

Methodone Pills

Peter L. Pence, 58, of the 14800 block of South Karlov Avenue in Midlothian, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Police were called at about 12:51 a.m. to the 100 block of South Koster Avenue. While on the way, police found Pence standing in the middle of 148th Street. An officer searched Pence and found a marijuana pipe and two pills in a plastic baggie. The pills were later identified as methadone by a pharmacist at Walgreens.

Red Box Screen Broken

The touch screen for a Red Box movie rental machine was shattered, according to a report. A representative from Red Box told police about the damage to the device at Walgreens, 4800 W. 148th St., No. C. The screen is valued at $500.

TUESDAY, MARCH 5

Blue Island Man Picked Up on Traffic Warrant

Ryan A. Hernandez, 21, of the 2500 block of Cochran St. in Blue Island, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Blue Island, according to a report. The warrant was for a traffic violation. Heranadez had called police because he locked his keys in his car.

Water Heater, Sinks Stolen

Someone stole the hot water heater and bathroom sinks from a vacant house in the 14300 block of South Millard Avenue, according to a report. A house cleaner hired by Bank of America, which owns the property, reported the missing items. He also told police that pipes had been damaged throughout the house.
