Oak Forest Juvenile Stops Underage Drinking Before it Starts

Jose M. Perez, 51, of the 15800 block of Leclaire Avenue, was cited for allowing nearly 20 juveniles to drink at his Oak Forest home. The party was thwarted when a separate juvenile called police about the group throwing bottles.

An Oak Forest man faces an ordinance violation after almost allowing approximately 20 juveniles to have an alcohol-fueled party in his home's detached garage Jan. 18.

Jose M. Perez, 51, of the 15800 block of Leclaire Avenue, was cited by police for allowing underage drinking at this home. Police were called after a report, from another juvenile, of others throwing bottles out of the home's detached garage, according to the report.

At the home, police found approximately 20 juveniles in the garage, with alcohol also inside. Police performed portable breath tests on the juveniles, but all came back negative for alcohol, according to officers.

Perez told officers he wasn't aware of the severity of undersge drinking, and would not let it happen again.

How do you get cited for an ordinance violation if nobody violated the ordinance.
How can the police write a citation for "almost allowing approximately 20 juveniles to have an alcohol-fueled party"? This does not make sense and will most likely be tossed out of court.

luis, two things. one: don't use profanity on the posts (Lauren where were you?) two: the article said that all tests were negative for alcohol, now you say that you were drinking.??????????????????????????????

Luis, just so you and your friends know, the cops and politicians on your case also drank when they were "underage". It's completely normal. Now you'll have to drink out in the woods or in vacant lots. Or save your money and travel to a more civilized country. The US has the highest drinking age In the non-Muslim world.

Disappointed once again to not see 7th heaven on the roster. They have the best vocals out there,Read More even without their lead singer Keith Semple who defected to start a solo act. This band actually gets radio air play. Haven't heard any of the others at Oakfest on the radio.

Have any of you whiners ever seen the crowd at OakFest when Infinity is playing?? There are wallRead More to wall people in the tent and out into the grass around the tent! I agree that 7th Heaven was very good as well but maybe their price tag got too high for a neighborhood fest....

I hope that you find the owners of that pet! I bring my black Shepherd up there when we go...oneRead More reason I don't let my dog go with neighbors is because neighbors can't control him like we do. I dare anyone to name a more dangerous intersection then that. The turn from 147th st west bound toRead More southbound Oak Park is the worst I've seen. One slip and your car goes down a ravine 20 feet. The civil engineer and county people who approved that design should be called out. We NEED HELP!
