Assailant Strikes Teens with Gun During Oak Forest Armed Robbery

Three attackers robbed two teens who were walking Friday on Victoria Drive, according to police.

Two teens were robbed at gunpoint while walking down Victoria Drive on Friday afternoon, police said.

Both boys were hit in the head with a small black handgun one of the assailants drew, police said. Neither of the teens was hospitalized.

The two boys, including one from Oak Forest, were walking at about at about 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12, in the 6500 block of Victoria Drive, when a black Ford Mustang pulled up and three attackers got out, police said.

One assailant, who appeared to be 15 to 17 years old, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the ground in front of the teens, according to police. The attacker told the two boys to empty their pockets. When they refused, that's when both teens were struck in the head.

A second attacker who had put on brass knuckles encouraged the suspect to shoot one of the teens, police said. No bullets were fired.

An iPhone, wallet and Oak Forest High School identification card, among other items, were taken from one of the teens, according to police. Officers searched for the three men and the car but were unsuccessful.

The first assailant is described as a 5-foot, 7-inch, 170-pound black male. He had short hair, was between the ages of 15 and 17 and wearing a white T-shirt and basketball shorts. The assailant who wore brass knuckles is a 6-foot, 1-inch tall black male. He is described as being between 170 and 180 pounds, was 15 to 17 years old and had on basketball shorts with a black shirt.

The third male, who was Hispanic and did not do anything in the robbery, was known to the victims, police said. He is between 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 5-feet, 10-inches tall, about 170 pounds and between the ages of 15 and 17. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and shorts.
