Bickering Over Sudoku Puzzle Adds Up to Domestic Battery Charge

A pregnant woman claims her ex-boyfriend squeezed her stomach "in a harmful" manner, after she accused him of taking the Sudoku puzzle out of the newspaper, according to Midlothian police reports.

A former couple's argument over a puzzle resulted in a domestic battery charge for a Chicago man. 

Cenecca E. Harmon, 29, of the 330 block of W. 100th Street, Chicago, was charged with domestic battery, after an incident with his ex-girlfriend at Wendy's, 148th and Cicero Avenue. 

Police at Wendy's spoke with the victim, who said Harmon squeezed her stomach area in a harmful manner, causing her pain. The victim also told police that she was pregnant.

Officers spoke with Harmon, who said he and the victim got into an argument over a newspaper that she wanted, when she accused him of taking the Sudoku puzzle out of the paper. He said that he put his hands on the victim in an attempt to move her out of his way.

After being checked by paramedics, the victim refused treatment and signed a complaint against Harmon. Harmon was taken to the Midlothian Police Department, where he was charged and put in a booking room to await transport to the Markham Courthouse to await a bond hearing.
