Driver Flees After Hitting Car, Mailbox and Street Sign

A 33-year-old Oak Forest man faces multiple charges after a crash on Nov. 28, according to a report.

An Oak Forest man is accused of fleeing a crash on Nov. 28.

Charles A. Moravec, 33, of the 17000 block of Belle, was charged with driving too fast for conditions, leaving the scene of a crash, failing to give information, driving with a defective windshield and driving without proof of insurance, according to an Oak Forest police report.

Police said Moravec struck a street sign, mailbox, tree and another car at about midnight in the 5500 block of Jessica before driving away.

The car belonged to his father, according to the report. Police found Moravec at his home but he refused to leave. He was issued the citations upon surrendering to police.

Police blotter information is provided by the Oak Forest Police Department. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
