I Don't Shop on Those Websites
Police were contacted by a victim in the 14800 block of S. Pulaski Road, after the victim was notified by their bank that more than $1,700 worth of charges were made to their credit card.
The victim told officers that an unknown person(s) made purchases to Amolatina.com and Anastasia International from Nov. 27–29. The victim said they contacted the bank and canceled the card, but needed a police report to be reimbursed for the charges.
Punctured Tires, Missing Laptop
Police responded to a call of a burglary in the 3600 block of W. 148th Place, after a resident discovered their car damaged and a laptop missing from their garage.
At the scene, police spoke with the victim, who said an unknown suspect(s) punctured their driver's side front tire sometime between 10 p.m. Dec. 2 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 3. The victim said they drove into their driveway and that was when they noticed their garage doors were unlocked, which was unusual.
The victim noticed a Dell laptop was missing from a work bench in the garage and that the window was open and the screen removed, which appeared to be how the suspect(s) gained entry.
The the laptop and damage to the vehicle was valued at $1,300 by the victim.
THURSDAY, NOV. 29
I 'Didn't Know I Couldn't' Drive and Drive
Richard M. Ryon, 45, of the 5100 block of W. 154th Street, Oak Forest, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, after police witnessed him drinking a beer behind the wheel of his truck in the Thornton's Gas Station, 14805 S. Cicero Avenue.
According to police, officers were in an unmarked squad car at the Thornton's when Ryon pulled up next to them in his truck. Officers watched as Ryon and his passenger, Michael B. O'Connell, 56, of the 5100 block of W. 154th Street, Oak Forest, drank beer from bottles before exiting the vehicle.
The men told officers they didn't know they couldn't drink beer in a vehicle.
Officers administered standard field sobriety tests to Ryon, who could not follow directions or complete the tests in a satisfactory manner. Ryon was taken into custody and transported to the Midlothian Police Station, where he submitted to a breathalyzer test.
The test showed Ryon with a blood alcohol content of .03. Officers asked Ryon to submit to blood and urine samples after the test, due to his failure at the field sobriety tests.
Ryon was taken to South Suburban Hospital, where he submitted to both tests.
Ryon was taken back to the station, where he was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and given a court date of Jan 16, 2013, and released on $1,000 bond.

I Don't Shop at Those Websites Either
Officers spoke with a victim of identity theft, after the victim came to the Midlothian Police Station.
The victim told officers that an unknown person(s) had been using their debit card to make five fraudulent purchases from Nov. 26–27. The purchases totaled $491.01 to American Eagle, Abercrombie.com, Puritans Pride, Dancewear Studio and Fragranceex.com.
The victim told officers they canceled the card through the bank that issued it. Officers told the victim to bring a copy of the police report to the bank.
Ex-Boyfriend Shoves Ex-Girlfriend into Wall
Ivan Roman, 19, of the 14600 block of S. Sawyer Avenue, was charged with domestic battery, after his ex-girlfriend reported to police that he shoved her and threw her into a wall at his home.
According to the victim, she was at Roman's home to drop off their son, whom Roman agreed to watch while the victim was attending school. The victim said she waited for 10 minutes in Roman's driveway before entering his home to find him.
While in the home, the victim said she accidentally opened a door that allowed Roman's dog to run loose, which angered Roman. Roman then grabbed the victim and threw her into the wall, before trying to throw her out of his home, according to the victim.
Police went to Roman's home, where he told officers the victim attacked him and he only shoved her in self defense. Police took Roman into custody and transported him to the Midlothian Police Department, where he was charged and given a court date of Jan. 16, 2013.
