Dozens of Windows Shot Out in Weekend Spree

Two men are in custody and charges against the suspects are pending, police said.

Charges are pending against two men arrested in connection with more than 30 vehicle windows shot with a pellet gun over the weekend.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark green or blue Monte Carlo driving around during the early Sunday morning. A passenger in the car was spotted firing the pellet gun.

The Cook County State's Attorney's office is sorting through the report to determine the type and number of charges that will be filed against the suspects, Oak Forest police said.

About 33 windows were shot with pellets, according to Oak Forest reports. In some cases, the windows were completely shot out. Damage estimates range from up to $400 or more for each broken window.

The suspects targeted vehicles in an area along and north of 159th Street, hitting neighborhoods between Oak Park and Le Claire avenues, the reports states.

Police have not released the identity of the two men arrested.
