Illegal Smokes Confiscated from OF Business, Sheriff's Police Say

Noor Oak Forest was found with 160 packs of illegal cigarettes on July 25, according to police.

A recent effort in "cleaning up communities" by Cook County Sheriff's police resulted in citations for one business.

Sheriff’s police, working with the Cook County Department of Revenue, carried out a tobacco law enforcement initiative to make sure businesses are following the rules. Noor Oak Forest, located at 15100 South Cicero, was found with 160 packs of illegal cigarettes and was fined $6,000, according to police.

Officers from the Sheriff’s Office conducted the enforcement as part of a larger effort on July 25 aimed at "cleaning up communities in Cook County." Police also arrested 22 people wanted on outstanding warrants in that same effort.
