Catalytic Converters Cut Out of Children's School Bus: Midlothian Blotter

MONDAY, MARCH 25

Taking Catalytic Converters From Children

Someone cut out the catalytic converters out of a bus used by the Bright Visions Learning Academy, according to a report. The preschool, which is at 14804 S. Cicero Ave., uses the bus to transport children.

At about 3:30 on March 24, someone tried to start the bus and heard a weird noise. The bus was left in working order on March 22.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23

Marijuana Possession

Nicholus C. O'Neal, 27, of the 15000 block of South Leclaire Avenue in Oak Forest, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, according to a report. Police stopped a red Ford pickup truck at about 7:42 near the 14600 S. Hamlin Ave., after an officer noticed the passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

During the stop, an officer could smell a strong odor of fresh marijuana. After O'Neal left the car, police found a plastic baggie with a green leafy substance that later tested positive for the presence of marijuana. It reportedly weighed 29 grams. O'Neal is due in Markham court on April 25.
