Car Strikes 2 on Cicero Avenue; No Injuries Reported

A Midlothian man driving near 148th and Cicero didn't see two people riding bicycles on the busy road Wednesday night, Midlothian police said. Both victims were uninjured and did not require transportation to area hospitals.

A Midlothian man turning into the northbound lanes of Cicero Avenue did not see two people riding bicycles in the lane, and struck them as he turned into traffic around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night near 148th and Cicero. 

Ryan Meisner, 22, of Midlothian, told police he didn't see the two before he turned, striking them as he made the turn onto Cicero, according to Midlothian Police Chief David Burke.

The two people struck were riding their bicycles southbound in the northbound lanes, according to reports. Both were uninjured and did not require transportation to a local hospital.

Meisner was charged with failure to yield and driving while license suspended. The two on bicycles were charged with other moving violations, according to reports.
