Bud Light Fan Crashes into Jeep in front of Cop

A 24-year-old Oak Forest man is accused of drunken driving.

A beer fan is accused of drunken driving after crashing into a parked Jeep.

Evan E. Bay, 24, of the 15300 block of Kenton, Oak Forest, driving under the influence of alcohol, illegally transporting alcohol and improper lane use, according to an Oak Forest police report.

While watching for speeders at about 8:03 p.m. on Oct. 20, an Oak Forest officer saw a black GMC strike a black Jeep, which was parked on the street in the 5000 block of 151st Street, the report states. He approached the GMC over and noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from inside.

The cop spoke with the driver, Bay, and notched that he had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, the report states. At one point, the driver started reaching in the back seat, which the officer ordered him to stop doing. About the same time, the officer noticed a half-empty 40 oz Bud Light bottle in the center console of the GMC and two empty Bud Light cans tucked into the rear pocket of the front passenger seat.

Bay stumbled as he got out of the GMC, the report states. Several CDs fell out of vehicle at the same time. Bay swayed back and forth as he explained that he had driven from the south side of Oak Forest.

An officer asked Bay to take tests for sobriety, which he declined to do, the report states. He was then arrested and taken to the Oak Forest Police Department for booking. While there, he refused to take a breath test.
