A reported brush fire in Yankee Woods Forest Preserve has shut down a portion of Central Avenue, as of Wednesday evening at 4:45 p.m.
A reported brush fire in the Yankee Woods Forest Preserve at 164th and Central has shut down a portion of Central Avenue as departments handle the situation.
No smoke is visible from 167th and Central avenue. Firefighters on ATVs could be seen heading into the forest preserve.
is on the scene, along with Oak Forest Emergency Management and . Emergency Management has closed off Central Avenue northbound from 167th Street. Officers are directing traffic.
