TUESDAY, APRIL 16

Frankfort Driver Charged With DUI

Travis W. Bloomfield, 42, of the 500 block of Durham Drive in Frankfort, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, driving without insurance and improper lane use, according to a report.

Police saw a car weaving from lane to lane at about 12:26 p.m. near the intersection of 159th Street and Peggy Lane. During a traffic stop, police could smell an odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath.

Bloomfield was arrested after taking field sobriety tests. She took a breath test while in police custody.

Air Conditioners Stolen

Two air conditioners were removed from office condos in the 6000 block of West 159th Street, according to a report. A 2.5 ton American Standard air conditioner had its lines cut but was not stolen.

Orland Hills Man Charged With Drug Possession

Robert J. Ores, 23, of the 16700 block of Hilltop Avenue in Orland Hills, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to a report.

Two men bought hypodermic syringes at about 8:10 p.m. and went into the public restroom at CVS, 15840 Cicero Ave., the report stated. An officer who entered the bathroom reported seeing one man holding a syringe and the other sitting on the floor.

Ores then dropped 10 clear capsules that contained a white powder and tried to run, the report stated. Police stopped and searched Ores, who allegedly had a clear plastic baggie with 13 more clear capsules of white powder that tested positive for heroin, the report continued.

The total amount of heroin found was 4.6 grams, according to the report.

Laptop Taken in Burglary

A Toshiba laptop was taken from a home in the 5700 block of 150th Place after a break-in some time between 10:30 a.m. and 1:25 p.m., according to a report. The laptop was last seen on the living room sofa, the report stated.

A kitchen patio door was found open, but there were no signs of forced entry, the report continued.

SUNDAY, APRIL 7

Brick Thrown Through Window, TV

A 31-year-old Oak Forest man was watching TV when a brick broke through his window and damaged his television, according to a report. The man told police he had argued with a friend earlier that day over a video game and that he might be responsible.

The 42-inch television is valued at $1,000, the report stated.
