A Man's Man Bowls and Brawls, Feb. 4

Are you really manly if you get into a shoving match with a guy who will be 70 on his next birthday?

A 69-year-old man told police he was bowling at Oak Forest Bowl when another man—Jon Damon, 40,  of the 16700 block of 92nd Avenue in Orland Hills—began exchanging words with his team. According to reports, Damon told police he was walking away when a team member taunted him, questioning his masculinity. Damon then turned and shoved him, according to police. Staff spotted the brawl and broke it up, and police said Damon was charged with assault.

Who Doesn't Like Hash Browns After a Night of Drinking? Feb. 6

An employee at Dunkin Donuts, 4100 block of 167th Street in Oak Forest, told police a man threatened him, saying he was displeased with the amount of hash browns he received. The man appeared intoxicated, smelling of alcohol and slurring his speech, reports said. The man pulled through the drive-thru and after receiving his hash browns, complained there were not enough, according to officers. The clerk said the amount of hash browns is pre-determined and he could not give the man more. The man got out of his car, threatened to hurt the clerk, and then drove off, police said.

Safe Robbed, Feb. 8

Michael R. Rizzuti, 20, of the 16400 block of Olcott Avenue, Tinley Park, was charged with theft after police said he stole $420 out of a safe in the back of his employer's collectibles shop on the 15900 block of Harlem Avenue. Rizzuti was arrested around 5 p.m. Feb. 8 and police recovered $322 from his wallet, according to reports.

Hubcaps Taken from Metra Lot, Feb. 8

The owners of six cars parked in the 80th Avenue Metra station lot reported all four hubcaps were stolen off their cars over the course of two days, police said. Police believe the hubcaps—valued between $300 and $400.

A 12-Pack of Beer Will Loosen Your Tongue, Feb. 6

Brandon T. Matthews, 24, of the 200 block of Park Ave in Steger, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said they stopped him near the intersection of Glengate Avenue and Chicago Road in connection with driving between two lanes at night with his headlights off. When asked if he had been drinking, Matthews replied, "I ain't gonna lie. I drank a 12-pack of beer," according to reports.

Crowbar Assault, Feb. 6

Police are looking for three people who they said beat a 23-year-old University Park man with a crowbar in the 1900 block of Concord Drive after an altercation over a cell phone at Knockouts Sports Bar in Matteson. The victim was covered in blood and had a laceration on the right side of his head, according to reports. The man was taken to St. James Hospital. A second victim, a 22-year-old woman, also from University Park, told police the offenders struck her repeatedly while she was trying to help the first victim.

Officer Hit at White Horse, Feb. 4

Police were called to the White Horse Inn, 348 W. Maple St., to break up a fight at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. The caller told police that Bradley Hartong, 32, of Joliet, was intoxicated and got into a fight with another patron after he was asked to leave. Police say they were escorting Hartong from the White Horse when he pushed the officer and grabbed his duty belt. Hartong was released on bond for battery, and his charges were preferred to the Will County State Attorney.

Long Way From Kansas, Jan. 26

Carlos D. Sosme-Toto, 19, of the 14400 block of Jefferson Street in Orland Park, was charged with aggravated battery and underage consumption of alcohol.
Around 2 a.m. police responded to an argument at a house party in the 8600 block of 151st Street. During the investigation, Sosme-Toto was too intoxicated to answer questions and swung his arms wildly at police, according to the report.

At the police station, Sosme-Tote kicked a female detention aide in the wrist—cutting her slightly—as she prepared the camera for his mug shot, police said. Two police officers tackled the 19-year-old, causing him to hit his head on the ground, and then took him to Christ Hospital for inspection, according to the report.

Basement-Dwelling Freeloader Breaks Vacuum, Jan. 23

Abdallah Isa, 33, of the 7900 block of 89th Place in Bridgeview, was charged with criminal damage to property. Police said Isa broke a vacuum in the basement of an apartment building in the 15200 block of El Cameno Terrace around 8:30 a.m. The landlord told police Isa has been living in the basement without permission.

Tacky Attack, Jan. 26

A male juvenile was arrested for battery after police were called to a home on the 8000 block of 111th Street, police said. The boy was "sticking" another  juvenile with a thumb tack, police said.

Cops Tail Woman Right Into her Garage, Jan. 28

Helen C. Iwuchukwu, 50, of the 2070 block of Cardinal Court in Frankfort, was charged with resisting an officer, driving with an expired registration sticker, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after Will County Sheriff deputies said they tried to pulled her over at LaGrange Road and Colorado Avenue. Iwuchukwu would not stop and continued driving into her driveway, eventually pulling into her garage, police said. A deputy was able to enter her garage before the door closed, according to reports. Iwuchukwu refused to comply with several orders given by deputies and was eventually taken into custody, police said. Iwuchukwu also was held on a failure-to-appear warrant from the State Police, according to reports. She posted $300 bond and was released Jan. 29, reports said.

Not The Worst Thing You Could Do at a Chuck E. Cheese, Jan. 30

Alfred A. Carter, 31, of the 7600 block of South Emerald in Chicago, was cited for disorderly conduct. Police say Carter urinated in the parking lot outside of Chuck E. Cheese, 4031 W. 95th St., around 6 p.m. Carter was issued a village ordinance citation and is to appear for a hearing at Oak Lawn Village Hall on Feb. 15.

Like Something Out of 'Animal House', Jan. 20

Police responded to a disturbance call at Buffet City, 8708 S. Cicero Ave., where about 60 juveniles were reportedly throwing food and dishes at each other in the restaurant. The manager told police the kids came to restaurant around 6 p.m., finished eating and began throwing dishes at each other. The cops asked the manager if he and his staff could identify the delinquents. The manager said that after the fight, he couldn’t and just wanted everyone out. Police told the crowd to leave and not return. Buffet City then closed for the rest of evening. Forty plates and 20 cups valued at $400 were destroyed, according to the report.
