Baggies of Heroin Found During Noise Complaint Call

Two Oak Forest men face drug possession charges.

Two Oak Forest men found with multiple bags of heroin face drug possession charges, police said.

Robert J. Ores, 22 and Christopher R.J. Mitchell, 18, both of 15311 Knox Ave. No. 8 in Oak Forest, are charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police were called to 15311 Knox Ave. at about 6:34 p.m. on May 25 for a report of people sitting outside being loud. The caller told police all of the people were using drugs.

When an officer approached the group of people, Ores allegedly dropped two plastic bags containing a white powder substance that later tested as heroin, according to a police report. An officer searching Ores also found a syringe in his pants pocket. Several small bags of a white powder were banded around the syringe. The powder, totaling 1.4 grams, tested positive as heroin.

Mitchell reportedly walked up to police with an open glasses case containing four syringes and three clear plastic bags of a white powder, according to the report. That powder, totaling about 0.6 grams, tested as heroin as well.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Oak Forest Police Department for booking.
