Baggies of Heroin Found During Noise Complaint Call

Two Oak Forest men face drug possession charges.

Two Oak Forest men found with multiple bags of heroin face drug possession charges, police said.

Robert J. Ores, 22 and Christopher R.J. Mitchell, 18, both of 15311 Knox Ave. No. 8 in Oak Forest, are charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police were called to 15311 Knox Ave. at about 6:34 p.m. on May 25 for a report of people sitting outside being loud. The caller told police all of the people were using drugs.

When an officer approached the group of people, Ores allegedly dropped two plastic bags containing a white powder substance that later tested as heroin, according to a police report. An officer searching Ores also found a syringe in his pants pocket. Several small bags of a white powder were banded around the syringe. The powder, totaling 1.4 grams, tested positive as heroin.

Mitchell reportedly walked up to police with an open glasses case containing four syringes and three clear plastic bags of a white powder, according to the report. That powder, totaling about 0.6 grams, tested as heroin as well.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Oak Forest Police Department for booking.

Police Blotter information is provided by the Oak Forest Police Department. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.

Do you or someone you know need help with heroin or painkiller addiction? This life-threatening medical condition can now be treated in the privacy of a certified physician's office with prescription medication called buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex). Bupe is abuse resistant and has a ceiling to its effects making accidental fatal overdoses unlikely. It also blocks other opioids for days, and is not euphoric to people tolerant to opioids. It has enough opioid effect to stop cravings and withdrawal allowing the patient and their family to make the necessary changes that will translate to sustained addiction remission.
TreatmentMatch.org is a free service from the non-profit organization naabt.org and is a confidential way to find doctors certified to treat opioid addiction in their office. Learn more about buprenorphine at naabt.org

i am a recovering heroin addict. It is not a easy addiction..i was homeless for 2 years. i tried heroin 1 time and was hooked. they say you chose to do heroin the first time and after that heroin chooses you. I have been to rehab about 5 times. I am a female heroin addict which 2 years ago were less common and I MANAGED to CHANGE MY LIFE..JUST BY WAKING UP ONE DAY AND BEING SICK AN TIRED OF BEING SICK AN TIRED..its a battle i will live with everyday i will have 7mnths JUNE 9 2012 that is the longest ive been clean off everything (including weed, and alcohol. times prior to this i thought those two things were an acceptation and id be fine still using those, i was wrong they always lead me back to heroin) so NOW at 21 years old..i CHOSE not to do ANY DRUGS. after battling cervical cancer, cyst on my ovaries..and some other minor health issues, and being an IV drug user who shared needles i am VERY FORTUNATE to be alive..and to not have other serious health diseases. One of the men in this article i have known for a very long time over 7yrs i knew him before heroin and he knew me as well.. the disease is overwhelming ...and most are lucky to make it out alive. -anonymous

Disappointed once again to not see 7th heaven on the roster. They have the best vocals out there,Read More even without their lead singer Keith Semple who defected to start a solo act. This band actually gets radio air play. Haven't heard any of the others at Oakfest on the radio.

I hope that you find the owners of that pet! I bring my black Shepherd up there when we go...oneRead More reason I don't let my dog go with neighbors is because neighbors can't control him like we do. I dare anyone to name a more dangerous intersection then that. The turn from 147th st west bound toRead More southbound Oak Park is the worst I've seen. One slip and your car goes down a ravine 20 feet. The civil engineer and county people who approved that design should be called out. We NEED HELP!
