Accident Snarls Traffic on I-80 Eastbound

Details are scarce on an accident that brought traffic to a near halt on I-80E during evening rush hour Thursday. State Police confirmed there were no injuries in the accident, but additional details were not immediately available.

Traffic crawled along I-80 eastbound during the evening rush hour Jan. 17, as an accident near the 183rd Street bridge closed the left lane of the highway.

A firetruck blocked the left lane of traffic on the highway as crews cleaned up debris along the left shoulder and tow trucks worked to remove a green van from the scene.

State police reported no injuries in the accident, although the number of vehicles involved was unclear when Patch spoke to a State Police spokesperson.
