2 Oak Forest Men Light Up Fourth With Pot, Not Fireworks: Police

The pair tried to dump the stash but admitted to having marijuana in their car on July 4, according to police.

A pair of Oak Forest men were toking up in a parking lot on July 4, according to a report.

Oak Forest police cited the men, one 18 years old and the other 20, at about 3:30 a.m., in a parking lot in the 5100 block of 159th Street, the report states.

An officer saw a black, four-door vehicle parked in the lot with its lights off, the reports states. When the cop approached, he saw one of the men throw something out of the window. He also reportedly saw both men make quick movements inside the vehicle.

Police reported smelling raw marijuana as they got closer, according to the report.

A blunt and two small bags were found in the vehicle, police said. A green, leafy substance in all of the items tested positive for marijuana.

The pair received citations for possession of marijuana.
