11 Thefts from Cars, 2 Burglary, 1 Battery: Ward 1 Calls in January

With the help of the Oak Forest Crime Prevention Committee, Patch shares the city's calls for service for the month of January in each ward.

Patch features items from reports on file at the Oak Forest Police Department in our police blotter posts. Although not all accounts are reported in the Patch police blotter, the Oak Forest Crime Prevention Committee compiles the number of service calls monthly, listed by type and location.

We give you the rundown of what was called in and where during the month of January. Patch will feature one ward per day. We kick off with Ward 1, under Alderwoman Laura Clemons.

NOTE: These statistics are gathered from the Oak Forest Police Department's Daily Call for Service Log reports. These indicate calls for service, not criminal or crime statistics.

I agree. There seem to be an abundance of crime on this report in an area that rarely has it. Also, how come the results from December were never published? Looking forward to reading about the rest of the wards.

If you want this information quicker and with more detail, get ahold of the OFPD and ask about getting the crime report for Oak Forest emailed to you. Dennis Mitzner runs it. We got the January report three weeks ago.

Hi, folks. We'll be publishing one a day (and you can stay on my case to make sure I don't forget. I'm at lauren.traut@patch.com). NotSoFast—we get them in the first week of the month, but I was juggling a rough transition this month. Otherwise, we start publishing them as soon as we get them. The stats are literally verbatim from the charts Mr. Mitzner provides, however.

Ok, so the new statistics for February were emailed three days ago, so why are you not posting them already? Lets see how long it takes this month. Or, are packzi's more important then crime in Oak Forest.

Not so fast: Thanks for the input. The feature starts Monday and runs every day this week. And I'm assuming you mean February?
Hitchens! March 09, 2014 at 11:21 AM
There is no need to drag these stats out, and people have asked many, many times for all of the statistics to be published at once rather then spread out over seven days. The community is best served when information of this nature is promptly forwarded to it. Yes, the stats are for Feb, sent to us in March.

Alright, Not So Fast, I'll give them all in one post. You got it. I currently serve as editor of multiple Patches, so I do the best I can. I appreciate your patience. Thanks.
