Oak Forest Remembers Longtime 7th Ward Alderman

Funeral bunting seen on City Hall Tuesday is in honor of former 7th Ward Alderman John "Jack" Reidy.

Purple bunting draped along City Hall Tuesday is in memory of former 7th Ward alderman John "Jack" Reidy, who died Nov. 2.

Reidy, 72, served as alderman from the mid-1970s through early 1980s. 

Reidy was a graduate of Leo High School, DePaul University and the DePaul School of Law. Practicing law since 1966. He was a founding partner of Ruff, Weidenaar & Reidy Ltd. Recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer and admitted to the United States Supreme Court. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday 8:45 a.m. from Curley Funeral Home, 6116 West 111th Street, Chicago Ridge, to Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 West 131st Street, Orland Park for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment private.
