Oak Forest Gives Thanks: Readers Share The Reasons They're Thankful This Year

Share your gratitude with your friends and neighbors on this day of thanks.

Thanksgiving. A holiday steeped in American tradition. A day not only to test the limits of what should and should not be deep-fried in a vat of boiling oil, but to also give thanks.

At Patch, we’re most thankful for our readers and the communities we serve. Without you there would be no Patch, and we’re truly grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

But we want to know what you’re most thankful for this Thanksgiving. We asked our Facebook fans last week the same question and below are some of their responses.

Michael P. Beahan: Thankful that the Irish are undefeated and #1

Sandy Boss Errico: How God has provided the $$$$ for all the repairs of things in the home and cars, new air conditioner and a huge bill that surprised us. Once a month starting in January we have had to shell out sooooo much and if it were not for the grace of God I don't how we would have paid for it all.

Meredith Cicchetti: For my 8 year old daughter being healthy and cancer free another year! For my husband, my family, freedom, church, and every day health, waking up another day, and salvation. So much to be thankful for.

Jill Stokes: I'm very thankful for my healthy children, and my very hard working husband. It's because of my very hard working husband that I can stay home and watch my healthy children grow :) happy Thanksgiving, Lauren!

Julie Dutkiewicz Kenes: My mom's awesome doctors! Two more rounds of chemo, just in case, and she should be cancer free!
