Oak Forest HS Invites Basketball Alum to Come 'Home'

In anticipation of the start of the basketball season, alumni are invited back for a special weekend in their honor.

Oak Forest High School teacher Mike Brown and the school’s basketball coaches, have created an alumni weekend as a way to celebrate the start of the Oak Forest High School basketball season, and also the history behind the boys’ and girls’ programs at Oak Forest High School.

Students have an opportunity to attend a Staff vs. Student basketball game on December 13.  The weekend officially kicks off with a Girls’ Varsity game at 5:30 p.m. against Shepherd, and a Boys’ Varsity game against Shepherd at 7 p.m. 

During halftimes and between the girls’ and boys’ games, some of the most accomplished players that Oak Forest High School has produced, will be honored.  Among the players being honored are Mary Brown, Sue Galkantas, Nora Hoguession, Jenny Swanson, Peter Brennan, Larry Gorman, Wayne Johnson and John Koschnitzky.  Also, the 1987 Boys’ State Team will be honored.
