Blood Drive/Collection Drive/Open House with free refreshments.

Holistic Happenings Healing Center in Tinley Park, located at 7925 W. 171st St., will host their inaugural “Heal Thyself, Heal Thy Neighbor” healing event on June 18, 2011 from 11am to 5pm.  Life Source Blood Centers staff will be available throughout the day for anyone wishing to donate blood and guests are invited to drop off items for the women and children at the Crisis Center For South Suburbia.  Holistic Happenings will also be offering mini-sessions and serving refreshments.  This event is free and open to the general public.

To check if you are eligible to donate and pre-register before the June 18 event, you may do so at www.lifesource.org and use sponsor code 674E or you may call Life Source at (877) 543-3768.  Walk-in donors are welcome, but it is strongly suggested that you pre-register to save time.  Donors will have their temperature, pulse and blood pressure checked the day of the event.  Then a drop of blood will be taken from your finger and tested to make sure you have enough iron-carrying red blood cells to safely donate blood.  The whole process takes approximately 1 hour.

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is a non-profit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence and addresses the societal issues that contribute to domestic violence.  For more information about what items you may donate, please see the ‘wish list’ below or visit the Crisis Center's web site at www.crisisctr.org.
