Palos Heights Farmers Market

The Palos Heights Library will start their bi-monthly Story Hour at the Palos Heights Farmers Market this Wednesday May 21 at 10 a.m. Ms. Rebecca will be reading garden stories. There will be an easy flower craft for the children to make. The library will be celebrating its 70th anniversary this year with giveaways at each farmers market visit. There will be a drawing for one of the new library cookbooks. Additional cookbooks will be sold for $10.00. Library Story Hour will be held at 10 am on the first and third Wednesdays of every summer month at the farmers market.

SWADDLE (SouthWest Area Diaper Depository for Little Ends) will be the guest of the Community Tent. The nonprofit organization was founded to assist needy families with diapers and other baby items that cannot be purchased with LINK or WIC dollars. Donations will be accepted at the tent, and will be distributed to families in need via Catholic Charities and Together We Cope. More information about the organization can be found at www.swaddlediapers.org

Everything you will need for your Memorial Day celebrations can be found at the Palos farmers market. Stop by WindyHill Farms for ground beef and steaks, pork (lots of sausages) and Amish Chickens. Pampered Chef will have everything you need for the BBQ. Spring fruits and vegetables are in the market. Make sure to pick up the freshest farm picked produce, and while you are there, eggs, cheeses, and butter, olive oil and vinegar, breads and bakery, honey, jams coffee products and nutritional drinks, pizza and pesto, tamales, pasta sauces, salsas, Italian peppers and much more. Shaklee products will be available this week. WE have lots of perennial and edible plants, and  flowering baskets and flats. Finally, don't forget to get your knives sharpened at Super Sharp.

Stop by the City Tent to pick up this week's recipe: "Guacamole with Strawberries" courtesy of Dr. John Principe MD of the WellbeingMD Center for Life. Make sure to have your Frequent Shopper Card endorsed while at the City Tent. Bring a friend and receive double credit on your card! Make sure to sign up for weekly email updates.
