Passenger Comatose, In Critical Condition After Saturday Morning Motorcycle Crash

Single-vehicle motorcycle crash shuts down a portion of Cicero Avenue in Oak Forest Saturday morning. Driver and passenger remain hospitalized Tuesday afternoon.

A woman is comatose and in critical condition after the motorcycle she was riding crashed early Saturday, July 2 near 153rd and Cicero Avenue.

The male driver, an Oak Forest native, also remains hospitalized after the single-vehicle crash that prompted the closing of a four-block stretch of Cicero Avenue from 1 a.m.–5 a.m., said Oak Forest Police Det. Bob Frias.

The two were traveling from Tinley Park to Midlothian via Cicero Avenue when the accident occurred. The motorcycle came to rest a half-block from where the victims were found, Frias said. The passenger was found with life-threatening injuries and taken to an area hospital for Level 1 trauma treatment. The driver's injuries were non-life-threatening, Frias said.
