Head of Cook County Health System to Step Down

Days after the state's rejection of plans to close Oak Forest Hospital, William Foley announces he'll step down after two years as CEO of Cook County's independent health system, Sun-Times Media reports.

After two years as CEO of the Cook County Health System, William Foley will step down, according to Sun-Times Media reports.

Foley was the first to serve as leader of the county's independent health system after then-president Todd Stroger turned over control over the county's health and hospital systems to an independent board, according to the article.

Recently, Foley at Oak Forest Hospital, converting it to an acute care and out-patient only facility. A state board this week , delaying the hospital's closing, for now.
